WoW Mage Guide says Wow Mage can be of almost any race – at least, those with an interest in the intellectual pursuits of arcane knowledge and power. The WoW Mage, unlike most races, disdains the use of physical armour and arms, relying instead upon dedication to study, the improvement of intellect, and the weaving of powerful magical forces to achieve their goals.
A WoW Mage is suited to a player who prefers to see the enemy at a distance, picking off targets one at a time with a variety of arcane and other like-energy conjurations and protections. Indeed, it is the mage’s role in World of Warcraft to provide distance fire support.
