Even getting to the stage where their physical forms become little more than an absence of light, an experienced Shadow Priest can use mind control, curses, and vast abilities to counter the magic or physical prowess of others in order to deliver devastating attacks.
WoW Priests, much like mages, give away physical protection for those afforded them through service to their chosen gods. Wearing only the most basic armour, they tend to surround themselves with followers of much tougher build, who they in turn pay with life, energy, and benefits of wisdom, clarity, rejuvenation and the removal of curses.
Priests are also one of the rare classes who have the ability to raise the newly fallen. Even if an opponent is able to down a member of the priest’s coterie, he is able to cheat death itself, raising and healing their allies in the space of a few seconds.
