The Blacksmith can also construct items to enhance your equipment.
A weapon chain can be created to assist players to keep hold of their weapons as it becomes impossible for anyone to disarm a player once he has a weapon chain attached.
Shields can be enhanced by attaching a shield spike which will increase the damage done to the enemy.
To become a Master Blacksmith (skill level 300-375) you will need to go to Outland to get training. There are various areas you should visit depending on whether you are a Horde or Alliance player.
Similarly if you want to become a Grand Master Blacksmith (skill level 375 – 450) you will need training at Northrend. Again whether you are Alliance or Horde you will need to visit various areas for training and quests to proceed. There are some areas that both the Alliance and Horde can visit side by side without coming to blows.
If you wish to specialize as an Armorsmith or Weaponsmith you can do so only at high levels. You can also specialize as Swordsmiths, Axesmiths or Hammersmiths. If you are unsure which area to specialize in, ask your guild which one they need the most. If at any time you would like to change your specialization you will be required to unlearn your present specialization and choose a new one which will require a fee to be paid. This varies from 5 gold up to 100 gold depending upon your level.
You can make a lot of gold by making and selling your wares at the Auction House and to other players, but you must ensure your goods are well crafted to obtain top prices.
