WoW Enchanting Guide tips to finding items to disenchant:

Find some nice friends that will save them for you while they are levelling and then send them to you in the mail.

Buy items from other players and from the Auction House (This is why enchanters always seem to be short of gold early on).

Disenchant ‘soulbound items’ rather than sell them. Soulbound items cannot be sold or given to other players and can only be sold to vendors in the game, usually at lower prices than they are worth. Although you don’t get much for them, you do get something, so again, disenchanting them means no money at all.
